Tim Wheaton Photography | Southern California Natural Light Photographer bio picture

they call me... tim

i know i should use capital letters, but i am not a fan of what it does to the letter
"I", in most cases. if i had to decide between a tree that grew time
and a tree that grew money, i would honestly have to sit and think about which
to pick the fruit from. i do not eat fruit. nope. ask me again and i'll tell
you the same. i don't eat fruit and i don't eat seafood. i like to think i am
not "picky" because i knock out whole food groups at a time. i've
been told i have a dry sense of humor. i've also been told i look like howie
mandel. i'm not sure if that is a compliment. i am uber-blessed to have a wife
who "deals with me"... though she may run into eye trouble one day
for how much she rolls her eyes at my antics.

i love to take photos. i love what they capture of my life and your lives. and then i
love to take those moments and "paint" on them... to reflect some of
the emotion that is already there in a unique way.

add this page to your bookmarks. i will continue to show sneak previews of what i am working
on as well as session summaries. you will also find random promotions and
discounts, as well as sporadic views into my and my family's life.

cathie & kids: a family bathed in love (and light)

cathie is an old schoolmate of mine from high school (gooooooo EAGLES!) and we had been trying to get together for this shoot for almost a year now. we finally got our schedules to work out (Wonder Twin powers… activate! Form of…. a mighty lion with all the powers of nature. Shape of… a bucket of ice cubes. oh boy… the one twin just … i mean, talk about being overshadowed!). we were sort of getting together to shoot her youngest little girl, but her three boys were there too and we agreed to just go all out and shoot everybody.

and try to tell me you are not immediately pulled in by the tractor beams of her eyes… huh?

i took some of these back with some old school workings…

her youngest boy was a natural with the camera. at one point, we told him to not focus on the camera as much, but some of these really worked.

it was really refreshing to see how helpful the kids were with each other and witness their love for each other.

many photographers can attest to the workout some sessions with kids can be, chasing them around most of the time. when she decided to sit down, i wasn’t exactly rushing her to stand up and get on the move again.   :)

and a little ode to the mama that is well loved.

it was such a pleasure to meet all of her kids for the first time. i have to say, it was clear that they will grow up to be just older versions of their already outstanding selves. i hope we get to do it all over again some time!
