Tim Wheaton Photography | Southern California Natural Light Photographer bio picture

they call me... tim

i know i should use capital letters, but i am not a fan of what it does to the letter
"I", in most cases. if i had to decide between a tree that grew time
and a tree that grew money, i would honestly have to sit and think about which
to pick the fruit from. i do not eat fruit. nope. ask me again and i'll tell
you the same. i don't eat fruit and i don't eat seafood. i like to think i am
not "picky" because i knock out whole food groups at a time. i've
been told i have a dry sense of humor. i've also been told i look like howie
mandel. i'm not sure if that is a compliment. i am uber-blessed to have a wife
who "deals with me"... though she may run into eye trouble one day
for how much she rolls her eyes at my antics.

i love to take photos. i love what they capture of my life and your lives. and then i
love to take those moments and "paint" on them... to reflect some of
the emotion that is already there in a unique way.

add this page to your bookmarks. i will continue to show sneak previews of what i am working
on as well as session summaries. you will also find random promotions and
discounts, as well as sporadic views into my and my family's life.

gina | trash the dress

it feels odd posting this before someone’s photos of their actual wedding. but, this took place the day after the wedding, and it was a lot less photos to go through. so, stick with me and you may just see the logic in it. besides, no offense to all the grooms out there, but aren’t...

jamie & jay | trash the dress

from the day we first set up things for her wedding photos, jamie and i talked about doing a trash the dress session afterward. i can’t remember why the salton sea got thrown into the pot for the location, but when it did, we both agreed as whole-heartedly as people can… that was the place...

meet karen and nick. i photographed their wedding back on may 1, and due to time constraints and location issues, we decided to do a TTD (trash the dress) session from the get-go. this allowed us more time, to not have to feel rushed between ceremony and reception… it was perfect. ** for those of...

melissa: a very special TTD

TTD is another common term for photographers to use (i.e.: e-session, SOOC, etc.) that sometimes we will just say and people will cock their heads to the side a little. TTD stands for “trash the dress”… said dress being a wedding gown. don’t get too uppity… you don’t literally trash it. it is just a...

alli & sean: wedding by the harbor (part two)

this has taken me far too long to get the second portion up. my apologies. this was my first wedding of the season this year… and due to the time crunch, we were unable to squeeze in an engagement session. we decided to get out for a sort of “trash the dress” shoot after the...
