Tim Wheaton Photography | Southern California Natural Light Photographer bio picture

they call me... tim

i know i should use capital letters, but i am not a fan of what it does to the letter
"I", in most cases. if i had to decide between a tree that grew time
and a tree that grew money, i would honestly have to sit and think about which
to pick the fruit from. i do not eat fruit. nope. ask me again and i'll tell
you the same. i don't eat fruit and i don't eat seafood. i like to think i am
not "picky" because i knock out whole food groups at a time. i've
been told i have a dry sense of humor. i've also been told i look like howie
mandel. i'm not sure if that is a compliment. i am uber-blessed to have a wife
who "deals with me"... though she may run into eye trouble one day
for how much she rolls her eyes at my antics.

i love to take photos. i love what they capture of my life and your lives. and then i
love to take those moments and "paint" on them... to reflect some of
the emotion that is already there in a unique way.

add this page to your bookmarks. i will continue to show sneak previews of what i am working
on as well as session summaries. you will also find random promotions and
discounts, as well as sporadic views into my and my family's life.

DMB Caravan Festival | The Gorge, WA | Day Three

DMB Caravan Festival | Atlantic City, NJ | Day Three

the final day of the festival. everybody that was in it for the long haul waking up to another pretty much perfect weather day in atlantic city. and here is another thing that makes the dave matthews band special: the connection. in this case, that is not just something that occurs on the stage. there...

DMB Caravan Festival | Atlantic City, NJ | Day Two

the second day in atlantic city for the caravan fest. i was relieved that all of the weather apps on my iPad and my iPhone had been wrong thus far: none of those big gray clouds with yellow lightning bolts and little white spots coming down from them had come around. shooting something like this...

DMB Caravan Festival | Atlantic City, NJ | Day One

i won’t go into the details, but as the fates would have it, i got hired for the most thrilling job my photography has led me to as yet: to travel to new jersey to photograph the first of four weekend festivals headlined by dave matthews band this summer. three days, thirty-nine bands. i love...

caitlin crosby & brooke fraser | san diego | concert photography

this post has taken me a while to get to for no good reason. while i thoroughly enjoyed this concert, it taught me a lot about what venues i love to shoot concerts at and what venues i do not. one of the biggest keys to photography is light. that’s all i will say.   :)  ...

if you do not know umphrey’s mcgee, i highly suggest you check them out. they are not for everyone, but i have been a huge fan of this band for close to 10 years now. i will borrow from their wikipedia page when i say they are best described as “improg” (meaning improvisational progressive rock)...
